Eastern Iowa | +1.
Specialty stores geared toward farmer needs of this type could not sustain themselves long. There just isn't enough of us. They keep locations open by offering a range of products that appeal to a broader customer base with a larger disposable income--hobby farmers and townies. That, and putting products on the shelf that provide larger margin (i.e. Chinese junk) keeps them in business.
It's fine with me. They are an option, as long as they are there, and there aren't many other retail options available to farmers these days. What will they try next? Membership based ag retail like Costco/Sam's Club? Or something Web based like Amazon.com for farmers--Farmazon.com? | |
