Subject: RE: What could it weigh?

LBO - 11/21/2011 18:01 Neighbor on Sat asked me to come over with my tractor mounted forklift and unload some lumber for him (he had bought for shop project). Anyway went over there and it was a bundle of 2x6x16's that was a full bundle that was still wraped from when it arrived to the lumberyard. Thinking that I could maybe lift it enough for him to pull the trailer out from underneath and than move it where he wanted it. We both got a big surprise when I couldn't even budge it. So was just wondering if anyone had an idea on what a bundle of lumber like that would weigh. (Have lifted several pallets of seed that would be close to 3000 lbs or a little more.) Thanks Les

Were you using a JD 3010 ? Or a late model JD 8430 ?  What forklift ? What model ? What size cylinder ?  I could ask more, buy you should get the idea.
