Subject: Re: Hydraulic hose crimper

Southern Alberta Canada
We have a Dayco NP60, it was given to us by a friend. I keep a bunch of NPT, JIC and JD flatface fittings in stock. I've been running these crimpers for about ten years now. I can crimp any style of hose and fitting up to 1 1/4". It takes a little experimentation sometimes but if you have the crimp specs and an idea what the finished product should look like you can put any make of fitting onto any make of hose, I haven't had a failure yet and I've probably crimped a thousand hoses. For air lines and water line and such I cut short pieces of steel or copper tubing and us them as crimp rings and use them with standard barbed fittings, makes allot neater job then hose clamps. Also I've used it to crimp aluminum crimp type cable clamps as well as shrinking sched 40 pipe over rod for brackets and such and various other jobs. I need to pickup a small die then I can crimp battery cable ends also. It's also portable, with a gen set I can crimp hoses right on equipment out in the field. I've still got to install a lifting eye on this one, with that I can hold it up with a loader or hoist and crimp hoses almost anywhere on our equipment. It is one of the handiest tools we have.
