Iowa | Wanted to run this buy some of you and see if you have any suggestions. My wife is home with my 2 yr old while I'm at work - during the summer my 5 yr old is also with her. She is 30ish and good looking - but gets really freaked out by people (not neighbors) that come onto the yard trying to buy or sell things as they tend to be pretty pushy and creepy - and they usually tend to come at the worst time. (not ag salesman - the fast talking pushy meat salesmen, coon hunters, insurance salesmen) What is a good way to keep them off the place - the 1 she had today wanted to hunt coons in the corncrib - she said no - he kept pushing her - told her when my grandpa died and noone lived there (for 1 yr while remodeling) they used to hunt for coons all the time. Its not like our place is a coon hangout or anything like that. Anyway long story short she got him to leave after 5 min of agruing - she wants to put a gate up - but I dont want to be antisocial to our neighbors who are good people - but dont want her to have to deal with these creeps - I am worried about what the wrong guy would do as she's out on a gravel road with little traffic - we do have a german shepard that if we'd keep him off the chain wouldnt let them out of the car - but when weve done that b4 he causes problems with anybody who does walk by. (maybe 1 -2 times / yr) We usually only get 5-6 of these guys / yr but theyre the kinda people that just after talking to them you want to take a shower. Any ideas - whould really like to make her feel safer but dont want the neighbors to think I'm a jerk either. Was thinking underground dog fence but the vet says if he wants to pester people on the road that wouldnt stop him. I happened to be on the phone with my wife when this last guy came around - she laid phone 5 ft from the door ( i was still on line so I could hear (cell)) and he treated her like crap - no idea who he was - but I am concerned if most of them treat her that way. | |
