Subject: Re: corn picking

Kingston,Mi
She Who Must Be Obeyed started yesterday, will pick and crib about 20 acres for the dairy cattle.

I sold feed for a while to a farmer near Ruth Mi. that picked a lot of feed corn with a Uni and a 6 row head, had a row crib that was over a 100 ft long 5 ft. wide and about 20 ft. tall plus a good number of round cribs.
He shelled it all before feeding it to his feeder beef and used the cobs for bedding. He had a New Idea sheller bed mounted stationary in the yard powered by a tractor and pto. Hauled the cob corn to it and dumped into a feeder funnel. Clean grain out the auger to a gravity box and the cobs to a pile. He had twisted the pto shaft off in side the sheller bed and was shelling with a 6600 JD combine, dumping corn in the header and shelling stationary. Sold him a less than complete or field ready 3 row New Idea sheller to replace the 6600 and the junked sheller bed.
