sw corner ia. | a friend of mine had a 5020 with a 318 in it with two stacks. He was plowing a field about 6 miles away from me and I could hear it very plainly, so in my exuberance I got my dad in the pickup and drove to the field to watch it up close. It was pulling a 6x18 plow in 5th gear which was over 6 mph. I still love that sound, but on somebody else's tractor. 6cyls never had that raspy bark either. when I worked for yellow they had an army of trucks with detroits in them and I guess this is where my love affair with that noise ended. | |
