Maybe something happened to the original engine. Back then the warranties were much shorter than they are now. Labor would have been cheaper, compared to the cost of parts. 6V71's would have been very common then too.
Had a good friend who bought a 1066 just out of warranty, and engine met is maker via the cylinder cavitation issue. Anyway, maybe the engine in this 1256 had the same fate?? |
