Send your wife to town to buy the fridge she wants. DO NOT go with her. They will deliver the fridge for her but if you are there they will expect you to haul it home.
When they deliver "said fridge"... HIDE... They will haul the old fridge out and install the new fridge for her.
You can come out after they leave.
