| my calves almost always are fine if i can get them to summer pasture healthy. this year, however, i have a calf about 3 months old that is not doing well. it is not gaining weight ( looks skinny ) and though up and about-it doesn't have near the pep of the other calves. i noticed yesterday that its' droppings were kidney bean shaped ( strung together ). any ideas?? i assume it won't get any better without intervention, but don't know if it is worth it to get the vet out ( it is in an open pasture, but i could probably get it in a pen ). would a shot of nuflor or penicillin help? could it be hardware disease?
