Subject: Re: Which Moldboard plow?

Strathcona, mn
I've had a 720 IH a 3600 JD and wilrich 2900's.... The 3600 jd was a POS.... do not own one if you want to plow corn stalks. The IH was a good plow but I don't like all of the cast pieces on them. I presently own a 10 and a 11 bottom wilrich plows. For the little that I do with them I think they are a great plow and very reasonably priced. Up here you can get a 10-12 bottom for under $2500.00 in near field ready condition. I've pulled a 2588 white 12 bottom doing custom work, it was also a very good plow but very heavy. Don't be afraid to have plenty of hp and wight available as the hinge plows are heavy and require quite a bit of power to move the base machine around.
