We have had every one of the problems you had and then some. I thought maybe it was just our head but I guess not. We can't even get a guard for ours. We had to drill out a section from another head to make it work on the end.
We like our 6088 but the head is making us probably have to switch to green next trade. The dealer is top notch but they can't fix everything the engineers screwed up. We are just losing too much cutting time.
