I am trying to remember what made mine get hot once. I believe that the book warns you about running your speed adjuster in too tight and it will heat the bearing up on the drive pulley. My limit switches were all messed up when I first got the combine. You should have that problem though at 750 Rpms. Unless your in low gear or something.
