Subject: Re: gas powered fuel transfer pump?

Crawfordsville, Arkansas
We use a 5.5 horse Honda with a regular chemical pump. Pumps about 30-40 gpm. The auto shutoff nozzle doesn't affect the pump in any way. 1" hose and nozzle here too. Rarely do we spill any other than the once or twice the auto nozzle didn't kick off. It got replaced shortly thereafter.

The only problem we have with ours is the square 4 bolt rubber seal gasket on the top of the pump swells up and pooches out the sides of the housing and leaks. Chunk it and get some fuel resistant cork or rubber and make a new seal gasket. So far the pump has held up fine. This one has been on there 4-5 years. The previous one was a Briggs powered one and it lasted about 5 years before the engine went bad. The pump was still working fine.
