He was actively investigating and walked into an informant, his friend, to investigate. Was not trespassing and walked in to interview an informant and inevitably discovered. Pursuit doesn't stop just because the chase ended. He had probable cause to enter to investigate his suspicion. All else fails go get a game warden. He doesn't need a warrant.
