South Eastern ,ILL | There are 8 township in the county, each township goes out and samples 10-11 fields , then come up with an average for their twsp. All twsp are then averaged to come up with a county average. Our particular twsp has keep records of the field area we have sampled since 1999, we either sample that field or one very close buy. This year the high twsp was 167.4 and the low was 137.4 with an average ear population of 26,875, kernel per row 15.8, ear length 6.9" and ear stalk ratio 97%.
