I've fed rice straw before. Can be decent filler if it is baled right behind the combine and is still a little green. Yours looks about as green as I've seen. We are a couple hundred miles from a rice field but can get it on a back haul, delivered in for around $25 per 3x4 big bale. About 800 lbs. if I remember right. It is far from being 'feed', but when mixed 50/50 with good alfalfa works pretty good for beef cows.

Interesting stuff, doesn't break down near as quick as wheat straw when used for bedding. I was thinking about trying to get a bale chopper setup to fill pivot tracks with it.
