Colorado | I'm looking to buy a tractor and have found three that interest me. A 1990 Magnum 7130, a 2001 MX 220 and a 2003 MX 270. 7130 has 5900 hours, 220 has 4700 and 270 has 5,900 hrs. The tractors biggest use will be pulling a Vertical Mixer, planting, spraying and some loader work. I like the idea of the extra HP on the 270. I've heard nothing but positives on 7130's, but the difference in price of a 20 year old tractor to the newer models seems less than it should be. Are the older Magnums that much better to hold their value so much? I've read about the CAPS pumps on the newer ones, would these MX's have those. Are there a lot of electronic issues on the newer ones? Just seems that there should be more than $15,000 difference in these tractors. Any thoughts would be appreciated. | |
