Jobs and Woz invented the very first personal computer that was marketed to the public - in their garage. Certainly a bigger contribution to the industry than the iPod, of which there were dozens of personal mp3 player already on the market when it came out. The iPod was a much larger contribution to Apple Inc. Actually, the Apple 1 was not a "contribution" to the personal computer industry, it created it.

One thing you have to give them credit for - not all of their products were FIRST to market, but at least they weren't copies of what was already there (can we say "Zune"?). They did their own homework.
