That is pretty clear, I'd say - and not what you are saying I asked.
Regardless, you answered by question - that rooting IS required for a high level of customization. No different than jail breaking on iOS for a high level of customization. Therefore, there are no "open" Android phones - plain and simple. It makes no difference if the OS itself is "open" if you cannot get a device that it is "open" on. | |
