| Ok, funny you should ask this question since I JUST dealt with this very issue. My elderly parents bought an iPad 2 about 6 weeks ago - and opted for the Verizon 3G model. They have only used it at home on their wifi network so they didn't activate the 3G plan until this afternoon in preparation for a trip they are taking. I got the account set up, it was connected with 4 bars, but none of the data worked on it. Did some research and figured out that since we are in a former Alltel area, our "Verizon" towers are not 100% updated to Verizon's ways of doing things.
I called VZ tech support and the MOST helpful young lady had it fixed in about 2 min. Not sure what all she did, but reset the account and tinkered with a couple of things and we were golden. She knew exactly what the issue was and how to fix it. I was most impressed.
Make sure your iPad is updated with the latest OS version (4.3.2) before calling them though. | |
