Despite the common misconception that Android is an "open" platform, you are limited to what you have access to in its stock form - same as iOS...
there's a difference - Android IS open, it's the phone manufacturer and/or vendor that locks it down with their proprietary UI. With Apple, the OS and the UI are one and the same (essentially).

For the record, it is a high risk procedure that can lead to "bricking" the device if you make a wrong move...
High risk, but fairly routine. Kind of like bypass surgery. |
