yes, we do time our cropping around our rainfall. We start seeding at the end of April knowing that we will hopefully get rain from the middle of April and it should continue until the end of September. In that time we should get between 10 and 14 inches which we hope will be enough. From the end of September until April we do not get a lot of useful rain, and temperatures go up. temps in winter can go as low as 2-3Celsius and max out about 15-20C. Summer temps range from lows of 20-25C up to max's of 34-43C. Rain in summer is usually storms, which do very little good
