It does get better, so long as you want to do things Apple folks will allow you to do, it's a handy little device that one gets used to. I believe a software upgrade is coming in fall or early winter that will deal with some of the issues.
Biggest thing of all I guess, is it can be so handy, one wants to do more with it that it is currently capible of. The reson it seems fairly fast & does not use much battery power is because it's so limited in file handling, attachments, and Flash. There have to be tradeoffs.....
