Western Australia
rocks are a pain, part of the paddock that you see just before the canola, my father counted the stoneheaps in there at 50 in a 40ha paddock, have shifted some since, and go around a few more as we have gone from a 24 run IH seeder to a 36' airseeder now. Hard to say what average yields are after the last few, but we normally would say about 2.5 to 3T/ha (36-45bus/ac) With a bit of luck we may get up to about 4T/ha this year.

The canola we are tossing up whether to direct head it or swath it. Either way it will be hard to get all the bulk through the front into the combine. One paddock we will definitely swath as we have had trouble with ryegrass resistant to all post emergent sprays, and so we will spray underneath the swather with paraquat, to try and stop any viable seeds being set.
