E. Kansas
No corn shelled around here that I have seen yet. Some was cut for silage, some was baled, but the majority of the corn nearby is still in the field. Lots of stocks don't even have an ear, and those which do, have very small ears and many are so poorly filled and have such small kernels. Of course, what else could we expect with a growing season like we've had.

The soybeans look good and a lot of mine are podded, but they've got a long way to go to fill to any where near being a decent size. Another problem we could have this year with the beans so stressed is having a lot of green soybeans if the plants mature with severe lack of moisture or maybe just dry up before maturing. Several years ago we had that happen and the dock at the elevator was very high. I guess the chlorophyll that was trapped in the beans makes them require more processing so the soybean oil isn't bitter. At least that's what everyone was told.
