I've found that these days most have a decent understanding of computer operation and can then apply their level of understanding to the initial set-up process. Advanced features are accessible during the initial boot-up process too. It requires very little time to become aware of the type and level of configuration one needs in their computer. The information is readily available from the O/S manufactuers and is often accompanied by video tutorials.

You may be surprised how often persons prefer the ability to completely personalize their Windows O/S and associated systems without needing to be proficient at command line entries.
