Hartsville IN | I normally make counts in most of my fields prior to the August crop report or shortly thereafter. Between drown out areas from early and burn-out of late I don't see spending a lot of time on it this year. Doing a driveby guess and multiplying acres I got 145 two weeks ago...same as last year's burned up crop and down from 200 ave in 2009. I've pulled a few ears this week and right now I'm thinking 95-125, depending on the finish. I hope to not see the daily field fires we had last year.
As a side note, I've been around eastern IN this week some and for once can say I've seen NO sudden death yet and we're right at the time it normally is showing up, around our anniversary 8/12--#33. | |
