East Central Kansas | The investigation will likely reveal what happened. Whether there was human error involved or equipment failure, something happened that should not have. Whatever that was, needs to be fixed or additional people will be killed or injured in the future. Unfortunately, in our society, that often doesn't happen without the entity or person at fault being assesed a significant monetary penalty. Thus, we have lawsuits. I do not know the parent's motivation in filing this suit, nor do any of you, but I do know what goes through the mind of many parents who lose one of their children or other loved one to an "accident". Many will go to great lengths to ensure that more families will not have to go through a similar ordeal. Others want to punish the person or entity at fault for the death of their loved one. How would you react if that were your daughter, son, spouse or parent? If you haven't experienced something similar, I don't think you really know the answer.
