The PC isn't what's to blame - it's Windows. I'm not buying your line that games are what slow systems down. Yes, it takes a pretty hopped up system to play a lot of these games, but I have never, ever been into gaming and had issues all the time with crawl. We have guys on here complaining about Vista and crawl - and I'm thinking not too many of these guys are into gaming either. WINDOWS is to blame, not the hardware.
Now, your advice is to "get a better advisor". You cannot seem to understand that the AVERAGE computer buyer will not, does not, nor should have to fart around talking to advisors in order to get a decent computer. Business owners, power users, yes. Not the average joe out there. Maybe you wish to dwell on the small percentage of users who perhaps SHOULD be seeking some advice, but I'm talking about the masses out there that just want to drive to a store (or go to a website), pick out a system, take it home, set it up, and start using it. THOSE are the ones taking it in the rear by having to drag their computers in to a doctor all the time to clean malware and keep them running decent. I see this ALL the time among people I know. The poor sap in our local town that fixes these things is literally overwhelmed all the time with PC's infected with malware. I gotta be honest - I've recently been advised on here to become a Mac salesman but with the advice you are giving, you would beat me in Mac sales by far! THINK about what you are advising people to do and the money they would need to spend in order to keep their PC's running in good form - you are proving my point. :) |
