bwire - I was trying to think of how to recall your previous statement; the business world is waiting for Windows 8 & 9.

Why? What is 8 or 9 going to offer to the business world that 7 doesn't? Actually, if the rumors hold true, the opposite will happen. Win 8 sounds like it will be new from the bottom up - a GOOD thing, IMO, FINALLY - but legacy support will be lost - a BAD thing in the eyes of big business since it will likely require all new software packages to run on it. My prediction - if Win 8 drops legacy support, the corporate world will adopt Win 7 in droves and run it for 10 more yrs like they have with XP. Those that decide to make a change may very well opt for other platforms that are easier to use and offer more security. Uncle Fester Ballmer himself has bene quoted as saying that Win 8 will be the biggest risk that MS has ever taken - and if this holds true, he is correct.

bwire - Interesting when making the comparision of your Dell to Apple you left out the cost factor which was the subject you were comenting to.

You aren't keeping up, bwire - that was my exact point. Both the Dell and this iMac were mid-range consumer grade models. The iMac was considerably more expensive, but I'm getting twice the useful (to me) life out of it, have spent way less on upgrades to keep it that way, and haven't spent anything (time OR money) keeping it secure and running well. Wait, it took me all of 10 min to switch out 2 GB of RAM for 4 GB. I can live with that!  :
