Don't know much about sunflowers, but those that are grown near us are pretty much all for bird seed. Some may go for pressing on smaller scales for biodiesel, but not much. My little research led me to believe that they need N like corn does, and under certain market conditions will prove better than soybeans, but with a market plan done far in advance.
