Rolla, ND | They are aphids, they are pretty well everywhere. If conditions are right, they explode, if they aren't they die. Too warm, too wet, hard rains, too many predators, all those things keep them in check. They like moderate weather, warm, not hot, something like 60% humidity. If it gets too wet, fungi tend to kill them, too dry they dry out, (this is what the insecticidal soaps try to do, knock off any protective wax so they dessicate, very effective when the conditions are right)
So anyway, keep looking, a few this week can mean spray next week, which is partly why some guys just spray. | |
