Near-north Ontario, French River
Saw this thread earlier , just got back in from pulling a few cobs to check the pollination. This corn was planted May 11, and was tassleling just prior to/during last weeks heat wave. We didn't seem some of the temps some of you guys had but it got up over a hundred one day and was high 90's for probably 5 days during pollination. Counted rows and kernals, came up with 16 rows of +-38 kernals per row averaged over the sample. Pollination looks very good, not perfect though. A WAG says 10-15 blank spots per cob. Looks like its gots some real potential since we received +-3 inches of rain over night.
