Dalhart Texas | Jay, we have similar conditions here with 250 bu. or more leaving allot of residue. The problem I had when I ran an 8 row was that it did not leave enough stalks standing in between the stalks the tractor tires knocked down allowing the leaves to drift badly in the few rows that were still standing. That is the main reason I went to a 12 row and it helped. This is one of the windiest places on earth though. I try to go 6-6.5.
