South central IL | Here in south central IL 45 miles south of springfield. Ground moisture is good, but most corn was late planted and just finished tasseling or is just starting. Looks like the heat has reduced the yield 20 to 30 bu easy. We have had recent rain so the beans are still growing good, but we will need august and september rain to make a bean crop here. Lots of people saying bad as 1983 here. I hope it is better than last year for me. Last year was the worst year I have had. Started in 1989. | |
