I don't follow the replacing a skid steer part?   We have both and I can't think of anything I would use either one for because they do them the same.  one or the other does the job at hand way better.  You will use a telie alot if you get one but I would not go as far as being able to get rid of your skid to justify it. 

Will your 3 pt lift not work in the field and get a forklift for the shop/yard.

Not talking you out of a telehandler but what other uses you got for it.
