Iowa | Ok. one way you can help "prime the CAT engine" is to loose the new fuel return check valve, that you just installed and leave it just screwed on lightly, about a grand total of two turns or two full threads, then crank the engine over for 20-30 seconds.
This works, because with that check valve loose, the fuel can easily by-pass it and go to the fuel return line, back to the tank. This allows the fuel transfer pump, to easily suck up fuel and push it thru the rest of the system and, HOPEFULLY, remove the air.
Stop cranking, snug up fuel return line check valve(only 21 ft lbs of torque), and try cranking engine again, and maybe a squirt of ether, if needed.
If it doesn't start or smoke, probably need to do those electrical checks.
