A fully converged OmniStar solution probably won't exactly mesh with your RTK solution. That means you'll have to shift the line to get lined up. You may have to shift the line a few times through out the day, but it will be quite stable once converged. The time while it is converging will have more drift, so you may need to bump the shift button more at that time.

Convergence wasn't really much of an issue for us. Most of the position drift happens in the first 5 minutes after you turn the receiver on. We fixed that by wiring the 252 to non-key-switched power so it doesn't ever shut off. The small load these receiver have can run for a couple weeks on the big batteries in a combine.

If you are operating near trees, just be aware that you may see more position drift than you would out in the middle of a field.
