middle ga | As an aerospace machinist I deal with this a lot. Clean the shaft and hole in the pulley with emery cloth. If you have access to an oven(kitchen oven will do) heat the pulley to 350 degrees for an hour. If the shaft is cool (add ice pack if needed) it should slide on with no trouble. Just be sure to use good gloves and have everything layed out cause you will probably get just one shot at it if the clearances are tight. The mass in the pulley is much more than the mass of the shaft so it will expand more. If you use the kitchen oven be sure to check with the wife first! Also be sure all grease is removed from the parts. Good luck!
