Columbia Basin, Ephrata, WA | 18-24 months of feed on hand?? Really? It seems like most dairies here run as close to "just in time" delivery as possible. When I drove by a local 2000 cow dairy the other day, they were down to less than a dozen bales of hay on site. More than once I've seen corn silage fed within a week of when we chopped it at other dairies. Needless to say, the guys here would be screwed if we didn't have reliable crops.
