Subject: RE: Subsurface irrigation?

Southeast Colorado
Three problems with sub irrigation. First.........no ability to water your crops up when there is no rain and no ability to water in chemicals to perform like they should. Second......no humidity in the air for the corn plant. Third.........most folks who went to the expense for the drip systems turned around and planted more acres because they thought you could go to 3 gpm per acre instead of 5 gpm. That was supposed to be the answer for declining water and expensive irrigation equipment. This year is definitely showing any systems weaknesses.
