Man, that is bad. Can't even imagine what that is like watching a crop burn up like that. We got a 100% shutoff in 2001 due to the ESA, but it happened in April so very little got planted that year, some alfalfa and other perennial crops suffered the worst. We really got blind sided that year though, as it had never happened before and no one was prepared for it. Lot of wells have been drilled since to supplement the surface water, but if we keep pumping them like we have, we'll be in your position with no water in the holes. 3,000 gpm wells in an area with 0 recharge aren't really sustainable.

Does your aquifer recharge if it does rain?

I just tried to order 20 feet from the irrigation district, and they told me I'd have to wait a few days... guess compared to you guys I have nothing to complain about.
