OK, I know that area is home to a lot of very large newer (in the last 15 years) dairies. Some of this corn must have been scheduled to go to them as silage. When I was in college we toured a dairy and the guy said he had arranged for 37 circles of silage that year. What do they do for feed now? The amounts they need are not something you just ask around and find, and you can't exactly arrange to have 150,000 tons of silage brought in by rail. Just how extensive is this abandonment? Is there going to be enough corn remaining to keep the cows fed?
