When my Dad farmed with the Cockshutt 50 (gas) it averaged 3 gallons per hour of 25 cent per gallon gas to cover 4 acres per hour cultivating or seeding. This was in the 1960s. Likely would have been a little cheaper in the 50s when fuel was less than 20 cents per gallon.
