Oklahoma
Got a 6 inch rain about 5 weeks ago. After that 106 degrees with 40 mph wind for 2-3 weeks. That rain event did not end the drought going on 1 year. Guys 15 miles west of me did not even get that rain.

Sounds like you are in an exceptional flood while in the southern plains we are in an exceptional drought. Either one is pretty crappy. Given the choice of a non exceptional flood or a non exceptional drought, I will take the flood every time. Drought here means no hope and call your banker while a flood is normally an entertaining event that puts everyone in a good mood. I'm sure if I have been experiencing a flood like you are then a drought looks good, but for me a summer long flood looks pretty good from here.
