I live in the midwest and I would love to have some of that same rich midwest soil you are refering to :) I tend to farm larger particals of sand. I believe the soil survey calls them gravels or field stones. But my organic matter readings do get up in the 1/2 percent range sometime :) I though I had a CEC of 9 once but it was really .9 Ok one more, the only Micro Nutrients I have in my soil are N P and K haha :)
