Here in TN, we will not apply Diruon until cotton is at 5-6 true leaves due to the fact that it is really harsh on the cotton plant. For burndown we use Valor SX, Basis, or Prefix as our pre. But, if it was dry, the pre was not activated and that is the true reason why your pre did not work. The variety that you planted is going to be a major factor to what you can use to now control these marestail.
I would have to agree, the dryness probably is the main culprit! I have a hard time killing marestail when there is no crop growing, next to impossible once a crop is up and growing(unless it is LL
Beans, then Ignite can be effective).
I wasnt aware you could spray anything on cotton to help contest marestail, once the cotton is up? |
