| I used to run a Willmar 765, which was very similar to a Patriot (guts, not looks). I had KZCO valves with a mid-tech, and sometimes the control valve quit working. Check for power to the valve, then try to move the valve in manual mode. Often, I found that the problem was with a small hex shaft between the motor and the valve. The slots were slightly worn and would get off of center with each other and then the valve would not move. If I put a wrench on the shaft and gave it a wiggle, it would usually get going again. I'm not sure if it actually was the hex shaft or a sticky spot in the valve, but this method usually helped. You could also seperate the motor from the valve to see if they each can move easily. You have to be careful with a wrench on a geared motor, be gentle, or you will be replacing it. | |
