Yeah, and you roll the dice with a 1066 or a 4430 and you might end up with a repair bill that will exceed the next ten years of income from that 25 acres.    The Kubota or similar will be newer, reliable and far cheaper to operate, and will not have that kind of exposure like the worn out horse would.


And maybe he would not have to put a dime in either for years. I would not particularly want to put in a day on a Japanese or Chinese tractor. Kind of nice to have some leg room. May be overkill, but having some extra power is nice. A snowblower in winter pushed by 25 hp is not going to clean much of a driveway either. We had some 7 foot drifts this winter that you could hide a Kubota under!
