| Look at what is the most economical, rather than the minimum hp you could get by with. Do you know how, or can you learn to fix stuff for yourself? Do you expect to sit in air-conditioned comfort? The compact tractors are expensive, and probably too light for real fieldwork. Look for a retirement auction where the farmer has smaller equipment, 706, 806, 966, 1066, 3010, 4020, etc. For the acres, I'd prefer a canopy/rollbar, rather than a cab, would buy a tractor with a cab, if the cab & AC is shot, turn it into a ROPS. | |
